How to I get into ERP, where do I start?

Question Information
Name:
How to I get into ERP, where do I start?
Description:
Hi I graduated in 2006 with a Bsc degree in Business Information Systems. I spent time studying ERP and EWS in my final year, along with Information Technology Strategic management so I have a background in this area.
I spent 6 months on an internship working for Accenture which involved being a systems analyst and a year working in Stryker Orthopaedics in the technology sector. What I am doing right now is very networking/hardware orientated. And I have been advised to do some microsoft exams, is this the way to go or am I wasting my time concentrating on MCITP and CISCO CCNA etc when Im interested in ERP.
I was talking to someone else and they were saying study Oracle and get the exams.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Hi, I would look at consulting firms as well. if you go to Deloitte consulting they are hiring SAP technicians. I don't know your background, but like i said there are alot of openings there as well as PWC and Baan..etc. Accenture also does quite a bit of work in ERP implementation and are even getting into the newer SaaS solution integrations. It looks like you had some contact at Accenture, why don't you try to connect to ERP projects through them? all the best.

Well Oracle and Microsoft are very big players in the industry I woudl suggest getting your certificates!
I work in ERP but I'm in Sales and Marketing!
Have you considered looking at other vendors for employment?
