Reviewing Retail ERP Solutions

There are so many ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions on the market today.  Some ERP solutions are created to suit just about any industry while others provide functionality very specific to certain industries.  For example, there are ERP solutions for the food industry, the manufacturing industry, the life sciences industry, the retail industry and so on.  We’re going to discuss some popular ERP solutions made specifically for the retail industry.

The first retail ERP solution we’re going to applaud is Cincom’s ERP solution.  This solution is meant for several industries; retail being one.  Cincom’s ERP solution provides enterprise management functionality, financial management functionality, program management functionality, and project manufacturing functionality.

Next up is a company called Epicor.  Their retail ERP solution has been implement by over four hundred of the world’s leading retailers.  Epicor’s retail ERP solution allows retailers to meet merchandise and service expectations.  Epicor also offers point-of-sale functionality.citRetail offers a retail ERP solution for specialty retail companies.  citRetail’s ERP solution provides functionality in the following retail related areas; price management, store management, item management, point-of-sale technology, inventory management, warehouse management, campaign management, supply chain management, and critical data reporting.  citRetail’s solution is called citRetail Complete Retail Solution.

Microsoft has entered the retail ERP solution market by offering Dynamics ERP Retail.  This solution was designed specifically for mid-sized specialty retailers.  Functionality for this solution includes; point of sale, store management, supply chain, merchandising and financials.

Icreon created customized Enterprise Resource Planning solutions for the retail industry.  Icreon has a proven track record as they’ve implemented solutions for medium and large sized organizations.  Icreon is based in India with offices in the United States.  They are a relatively young company and have been around since 2000.

Enterprise Technology Partners (ETP) makes a retail ERP solution using a retail management software platform that integrates demand and supply.  ETP’s V5 suite of software includes functionality for business strategy development, merchandising planning, point-of-sale, catalogue sales, distribution, warehousing, procurement, business operations reports, retail analytics and enterprise integration.  ETP’s ERP solution was built from the ground up.  You can select certain modules to implement or you may choose to implement the entire solution.

Manhattan Associates has a SaaS (Software as a Service) retail ERP solution.  SaaS solutions are easily implemented, have no gigantic up-front investment costs, and are flexible.  Manhattan Associaties’ SaaS retail ERP solution is best suited for small but growing organizations as well as medium sized organizations.
