SaaS Erp Solutions
SaaS Erp(Part 2 of 2)
As the previous article in this study has shown, due to the intrinsic differences that exist between SaaS erp and Traditional erp systems, even buying the most expensive SaaS erp solution does not ensure that the customer will find the perfect SaaS erp software for all its needs out of the great variety available on the market, whether or not it intends to deal with local/ national operations or on a global scale. Moreover, the potential buyer may also wish to conduct some extensive research on the vendor’s reputation and the quality level of its products through several means.
These elements destined for analysis, include the vendors reputation on the market as well as its position, globally, vis’ a’ vis other top competitors in the industry; the duration of its existence in the industry since the date the erp vendor company was first founded; its level of technical/technological expertise and knowledge regarding the evolution of the market and industry processes; its level of technological innovation, and whether it regularly maintains up-to-date with important new technologies entering the market; the quality level of its products; number of customers worldwide, the level of customer satisfaction and allegiance over the years- as can also be deduced by a careful and detailed study of customer reviews and feedback provided in online discussion forums, especially popular social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube among others.
We have examined their influence in depth my previous articles, but some additional considerations are required here. Aside from Facebook, the use of Twitter has become a favorite among many to top professionals from various fields of industry; spanning from entertainment, to sports, politics and businesses in general who subscribe and employ the services for promotional purposes, in order to expand their global market reach, and to attract more customers worldwide.
A particularly advantageous aspect of their use, is that their erp applications enable a company to communicate directly with their customer base and clientele and interact with them on a more personal level, so as to acquire enduring trust, confidence and allegiance. Getting to know the CEO on a more personal level (Through “Tweets” for example, which thanks to the short and concise form of these messages due to the limited number of characters allowed by the program has become a favorite – more than facebook – among professionals and their followers) regarding info on the vendor’s updates, upgrades, add-ons - coming directly from a company's CEO or manager is a recent, growing trend that has maximized the business potential and market visibility of companies on a global scale. Previous articles discuss the aspects of this recent industrial trend to successfully implement this M.O. of promotion to its maximum potential, by utilizing the use of the numerous applications of social media and networking outlets, but there are some further implications which must be noted. In effect, in some cases some of their applications may differ (as is the case between SaaS erp and “Traditional Erp” systems), and comprise perhaps innovative features which are unique and perhaps not common to the systems sold by other vendors/providers.
