There are literally hundreds of Enterprise Resource Planning software vendors in the marketplace today, and many of them are manufacturing ERP software vendors. That’s the reason you can’t just call up or go by to see just any old vendor. There are too many of them; which means you will have to do your homework before finding one that suits you. And a lot of your research will have to do with specifics, as in what specifically do you want? That’s a question you are going to be asked, so it would be smart of you to address it ahead of time; you’ll be glad you did.

Many enterprise software vendors complain and rightly so, about businesses that wish to implement ERP, but are not at all sure what it is they are looking for. As a result, some businesses end up not being pleased with the implementation of the software. Don’t put yourself in this type of situation, because you will live to regret it. It is your responsibility after all, to determine what it is you want. The software vendor can suggest things to you or even tell you what they think would be best. You won’t have to purchase any servers, storage or software. But before you get to that point you will need to do some research. 

When you do your research you will find that there are large and small vendors from which to choose. Don’t assume that just because a vendor is large, that they have the best software system; some may, some may not. Just remember, that smaller vendors are generally known to be more flexible.

Still, the choice is yours, so be prepared when you go out seeking manufacturing ERP software vendors.
