ERP Software

Process Manufacturing ERP Software

Some manufacturing businesses are involved with process manufacturing - that is they make paints, chemicals or oil as in oil refineries. It’s a production platform that deals with mixing, forming, separating and dealing with chemical reactions. This type of manufacturing can be produced in batch form or in continuous mode. It calls for software that can determine batch control and reliable reporting as well as formula mixing and routing. Materials management plays a big role here. But to make it all work the way it is supposed to, you need process manufacturing ERP software.

Process manufacturing requires being on top of a lot of things and at the same time. It also needs the cooperation of people within as well as without the business to ensure that the manufacturing production goes well. In house activity brings together the sales and marketing component, along with the accounting department, which has to deal with all of the financial transactions; human resources is important because you’ve got to have human capital to get the job done; inventory, purchasing, materials management ,distribution, logistics and the warehouse, all fall under supply chain management.

These applications modules can be arranged as stand-alone or they can be bundled together.

The accounting department’s General Ledger keeps tabs on all financial transactions. It also posts all summaries for each department to see what’s happening in terms of expenditures and allocations. All transactions are audited and can be tracked back along the audit trail so that departmental heads can have an up to date real-time visibility of operational expenses. Accounts payable will handle all of the payments to partners, suppliers and distributors, while at the same time maintaining information on money owed and when it is due to be paid. This is all a part of process manufacturing ERP software.

Accounts payable also works closely with inventory, purchasing, distribution and the rest of supply chain management to coordinate payments, payroll, purchase orders, invoices and bank reconciliation. Accounting is also linked to human resources to so that workforce management is planned for and organized efficiently. This includes expenses and time tracking, accounting for temporary workers and managing contracts and training.

Some say that process manufacturing is complicated; but it doesn’t have to be. Not if you’ve got the right tools to work with. The whole process of formulas and routing, the mixing and matching of components, materials management … It’s a process within a process and it requires process manufacturing ERP software.
