ERP SoftwareERP Software IndiaROCA, a global company with a huge presence in India, recently implemented SAP’s ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning solution called ECC (ERP Central Component) 6.0. ROCA is known for their tiles and sanitary ware. Thanks to SAP’s ERP software, ROCA’s daughter companies can share data or information with their parent company. SAP’s ERP solution for ROCA is running on IBM hardware. ROCA selected IBM because of their long-term standing in the market and their good reputation. ROCA has been in business since 1917. Since 1917 ROCA has grown substantially and is now located on five continents and one hundred and thirty five countries. ROCA employs more than eighteen thousand people. SAP is one of the leading ERP providers in the world. SAP has more than thirty five thousand customers located around the world. SAP regularly competes with Oracle. In fact, Oracle took the most Enterprise Resource Planning market share in 2010. Some of SAP’s other competitors include; Microsoft, Infor, Epicor, Sage and SYSPRO. SAP is headquartered in Germany, but they have offices located all over the world. SAP ERP ECC is just one of SAP’s solutions. SAP offers ERP solutions with the following functionality: supply chain management, distribution, manufacturing, human resources, payroll, customer relationship management (CRM) and more. SAP’s ERP solutions can be quite expensive and customers should be prepared to spend millions of dollars to purchase and implement an SAP ERP solution for a global enterprise. While SAP is one of the best ERP vendors on the market in terms of product and market share, SAP’s ERP ECC may not be well suited for to organization’s needs. For example, if you are a medium sized manufacturer that does not need global functionality, you might want to opt for a different solution from a different vendor. Of course, if your mid-sized manufacturing business plans to grow by leaps and bounds and become international, you might want to consider SAP’s ERP ECC. Evaluating the best ERP software is always difficult. Approximately thirty percent of all businesses that purchase an ERP product aren’t completely satisfied with their solution. And, most of these businesses claim that they should have spent more time during the selection process. Take all the time you need to select an ERP solution that is well suited to your business needs. Take advantage of demos and free trials. |
