ERP Software

Tally ERP Software

Tally is a complete, financial, accounting software used by over two million customers in over 90 countries. As accounting software, it has a good reputation as a program that was designed for smaller companies by Tally Solutions. In a recent attempt to increase its market share, however, the company is offering a complete business solution, Tally ERP Software, and this product is not without its negatives.

Trying to combat some of the negative press about their ERP software, the latest version of Tally ERP Software has some considerable differences from the previous packages they had put out. Prior to the release of Tally ERP 9.0 their ERP did not cover the same number of functional modules as the products of other major ERP vendors. So this is an effort to try and catch up.

While there is still a single user version of Tally ERP available, perhaps the most significant innovation is in the area of multi-locations and multi-user features that allow more than one computer to be connected. Now, due to the new multi-language features, Tally ERP Software can be remote accessed from virtually any geographical location using an administrator's password, and this type of flexibility completely changes the way a company does business. The other benefit resulting from the new features is the communication and teamwork created between offices of the same company situated in different locations. This furthermore benefits the customers since information is quickly traveling from computer to computer and is available from any site.

The most recent and improved version of Tally ERP allows for integration of the actions of varying functional departments. Reporting features have also been extended so that now reports can be created in simply seconds. Tally ERP Software has also improved its security features; this is notable because it is one of the key components that companies purchasing ERP look for. If the data can be kept safe, it gives credibility to the software system.

Integration support and transparency both carry a lot of significance for businesses hoping to buy ERP. Transparency because it allows a customer a view into how the business solution is being created and ease of integration because the less ‘tinkering’ that needs to happen for implementation to take place, the less costly the enterprise.

While not perfect, for example it is still better for smaller sized companies than for large, it is clear that Tally ERP Software has made great strides in securing a place in the ever-developing landscape of the ERP market.
