The Top ERP Software Companies
There are many successful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software vendors; some are better known than others. Yet, they come in all forms, shapes and sizes. Some of them also are industry specific, while others service all industries. In the past few years, Web-based software vendors have found success by offering lower costs through an online approach that can be accessed from anywhere. So there are a lot of software vendors enjoying success in this very broad marketplace. But who are the top ERP software companies? That question might be answered differently, depending on who you’re speaking with.
However, we can take a look at some of big ERP vendors and get an idea of who the majors are.Keep in mind that some of these companies provide services that go beyond their software, to include servers, storage, and middleware; and some of them offer a Web-based alternative to their other options. More small and midsized businesses are opting for the Web-based approach to enterprise planning, so we will take a look at some of these vendors too.
Microsoft: This software company is well known and has become a major player in the world of ERP. It claims near 100,000 customers and has a powerful ERP product line which includes its popular Dynamics AX.
Oracle: No doubt a strong competitor in this field. This company has bought many other smaller ones in its determination to be a major ERP vendor. It works mostly with larger organizations and has the ability to provide the software and the hardware as well. It also builds systems.
SAP: This company is a major competitor to Oracle and one of the top ERP software companies. It also caters to larger organizations. Its SAP R/3 is popular with larger companies, while its SAP Business One is appealing to small and midsized businesses.
Salesforce.com: This popular Web-based software vendor has become very popular as an online vendor that specializes in customer relationship management.
NetSuite: This is another Web-based vendor that has found success with its Web-base platform. It’s popular with small and midsized businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Excel ERP: This vendor is popular with those businesses that want to customize their ERP package, and ensures an implementation process without risk.
The Sage Group: This company is known for its popular Accpac accounting software which can be accessed through a Web-based platform.
These are just a few of the top ERP software companies.
