ERP Market

The Big Players in the ERP Market

The big players in the Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP market are:

•    Oracle
•    SAP
•    Microsoft

Microsoft is a relatively new comer to the ERP market compared to Oracle and SAP.  SAP has been in the Enterprise Resource Planning market for over thirty years.  Microsoft gained momentum in the Enterprise Resource Planning market by purchasing some existing solutions and adding them to their current repertoire of offerings.  Oracle also gained momentum in the ERP market with their purchase or PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards and Siebel.  Oracle and Microsoft are headquartered in the United States while SAP is headquartered in Germany.  All of these Enterprise Resource Planning vendors are global companies with offices located all over the world.

ERP in India

Oracle, SAP and Microsoft all have a heavy presence in India.  From 2004 to 2009 the Indian Enterprise Resource Planning market grew from an eighty three million dollar market to a two hundred and fifty million dollar market.  Currently, Bangalore, India is the fastest growing information technology economic center in all of India.  Bangalore is called “the Silicon Valley of India” because it is the capital of high tech.
ERP in Saudi Arabia

The Enterprise Resource Planning industry in Saudi Arabia is predicted to become a one billion dollar industry by the conclusion of 2011.  Currently more than seven hundred businesses in Saudi Arabia have implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning solution.  As the manufacturing industry continues to experience a rapid growth rate in the country, it is likely that the growth of the ERP industry will follow.

The Future of the ERP Market Worldwide

In 2010 Enterprise Resource Planning vendors realized an overall growth of twenty-six percent in Enterprise Resource Planning sales for the Asia Pacific region.  Many analysts are predicting that 2011 will return even higher yields in this region and worldwide.  Some other big players in the Enterprise Resource Planning market are:
•    Infor
•    Epicor
•    Solomon
•    Axapta
•    Lawson

While these big players may control a large sector of the global Enterprise Resource Planning market, there are several small vendors that offer comparable products.  The most difficult thing to do is to weed out the vendors and products that aren’t a match for your business because there is an abundance of ERP offerings on the market today.
