SAP Releases a New Solution Called SAP OnDemand
SAP is releasing a product called Sales OnDemand. This solution will be available soon. SAP Sales OnDemand will compete with Salesforce.com’s Customer Relationship Management or CRM product and Microsoft’s Dynamics product. SAP Sales OnDemand is not a replacement for their online CRM solution. Sales OnDemand will simply supplement the SAP online Customer Relationship Management solution. SAP is poised to release a few more applications this year. All of these applications will be on-demand solutions. More specifically, SAP plans to release a human resources on-demand solution and an expense management on-demand solution.
A Look at the SAP Sales OnDemand Solution SAP Sales OnDemand is intended for salespeople and includes all the tools that salespeople use that are part of the CRM application. SAP’s Customer Relationship Management application is often sold with one of their Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP solutions. SAP Sales OnDemand enables better collaboration between sales folks and customers. SAP Sales OnDemand is a rapid deployment solution that is much more cost efficent when compared to SAP’s on-site solution offerings.
SAP, the company SAP is a giant Enterprise Resource Planning provider that has been around since the 1970s. This powerhouse has led the ERP market for quite some time. Their major competitors include Oracle, Microsoft, Infor, Epicor, and more. SAP is well known for building their applications from the ground up. Although SAP has acquired some companies and functionality, it is little compared to Oracle’s acquisitions or Microsoft’s acquisitions. SAP started off providing Enterprise Resource Planning solutions to small businesses. During the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s SAP focused on Enterprise Resource Planning solutions for huge enterprises. Today the focus is on ERP solutions for all companies large and small. In fact, SAP has future plans to release a high performance analytic appliance for iPhones and iPads.
The Future of ERP and CRM The future of the Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management markets is quite bright. Analyst are predicting huge gains following the 2008 recession that took its toll on many ERP vendors and ERP customers.. Not only is the American Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management markets suppose to take off, but the North Africa, Middle East, and Asian markets are expected to grow quite substantially this year (2011).
