IBM Implements an Enterprise Resource Planning Solution in Roca, India
IBM wants their piece of the global Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP market. And, to get their share of the profits, they perform implementations and services. Recently, IBM implemented the SAP ERP ECC solution at Roca India. Roca India is a business that produces sanitary ware and tiles. Roca India is a global company that uses IBM hardware to support its information technology infrastructure. IBM’s hardware runs all of Roca’s software applications. Because Roca has had success with IBM, they hired IBM to implement their SAP ERP solution. Roca expects the SAP ERP ECC solution to help improve business operations including; sales, finance, procurement, production, planning, demand, and plant maintenenance.
IBM offers the Smart Business platform, which is a server architecture the makes ERP implementations quicker and easier. IBM Smart Business is flexible and comes with an eighty day deferred payment option. Companies that use IBM Smart Business to implement Enterprise Resource Planning solutions may be able to decrease downtime and costs. IBM Smart Business is a plug and play solution eliminating complexity and confusion.
SAP is one of the leading Enterprise Resource Planning vendors. The company started in the 1970s and has since become one of the largest global ERP providers in the world. SAP was founded by a group of IBM employees. The company was founded in Germany where it is headquartered; however, they have a magnitude of offices located all over the globe. SAP’s biggest competitor is Oracle. SAP and Oracle have gone head to head on many deals and consistently flip flop for the number one and number two Enterprise Resource Planning vendor position. SAP has built most of their software solutions from the ground up.
The Enterprise Resource Planning market is a revenue generating market that many companies want a piece of. There is tons of money to be gained in this market by selling ERP solutions, implementing ERP solutions, and maintaining ERP solutions. While Europe and America are hot spots for Enterprise Resource Planning sales and implementations, North Africa, the Middle East, and companies throughout Asia are adopting Enterprise Resource Planning solutions. Many Enterprise Resource Planning vendors are currently extending their operations to these parts of the globe to gain more market share.
