UK ERP Software is Going Strong
Last year ECi Software Solutions, a software provider who offers a manufacturing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution, expanded their business to the UK. Workday, another United States based business that offers SaaS (Software as a Service) ERP solutions, expanded their business to the UK last year. And the trend of expanding ERP software to to UK will most likely continue this year (2011). These UK ERP software branches are pulling in business. And, with a weakended United States economy, a little bit of overseas business may help quite a bit. In the UK, ERP software is already quite abundant even though few businesses have adopted such a solution. There are several European based Enterprise Resource Planning vendors to choose from. However, it seems that some UK companies perfer the American grown solutions.
Many UK companies were and are late to adopt an Enterprise Resource Planning solution. In fact, in 2006 only six and a half percent of small and medium sized businesses had an Enterprise Resource Planning solution. Thirty-seven percent of large UK companies had an Enterprise Resource Planning solution. UK ERP software solutions have only recently, in the past few years, really taken off in the UK. Because so many UK businesses are late to adopt ERP solutions, there are many customers to be had by Enterprise Resource Planning vendors. And, where there are customers to be had, ERP vendors thrive.
The UK ERP software market isn’t the only market that is ready for the taking. The Asian ERP software market is expected to expand this year. Very few Asian businesses have an Enterprise Resource Planning solution, which leaves a lot of customers to be had in several different countries. Many of the large Enterprise Resource Planning vendors have already set up shop in large cities like Hong Kong. And, it’s just a matter of time before the entirety of the Asian market is tapped. Once a market is saturated with ERP solutions there is still work to be had by the Enterprise Resource Planning vendors. For example, there are upgrades to be marketed, sold and performed and other types of service contracts to sell. As our world continues to follow the path of becoming one global economy, it only makes sense for UK and Asian businesses to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning solution.
