The Enterprise Resource Planning Competition is On!

The ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning market is all about competition.  Many ERP vendors are after the same customers and their goal is to beat their competition to gain more market share.  As we embark on a new year, Enterprise Resource Planning vendors are firing up their engines and getting ready for a new race.  In fact, Microsoft recently revealed a significant update to one of their ERP products called Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning, which is also called Microsoft Dynamics AX 6.  Microsoft was a relatively late player to the Enterprise Resource Planning game.  They only joined the ERP competition a few years ago while Oracle and SAP are veteran players and have been in the Enterprise Resource Planning market for over two decades.  Even though Microsoft is a late comer, they have advanced their position in the Enterprise Resource Planning market rather rapidly.  Today, Microsoft is considered to be one of the top five Enterprise Resource Planning vendors.

Microsoft’s Dynamics AX 6 ERP product is said to make Enterprise Resource Planning system integration easier and quicker for customers.  Microsoft’s goal as far as their Enterprise Resource Planning products is to make deployment, upgrades and maintenance of their ERP products much less painful and costly for customers.  Microsoft Dynamics AX 6 has pre-built functionality that will suit five different industries and will be available in thirty-eight different countries.  This type of solution comes at an optimum time when the economy is still suffering from a recent recession.  Enterprise Resource Planning customers are trying to save on costs and Microsoft’s Dynamics AX 6 solution may enable them to do so.  Gone are the days when ERP customers are complacent to spend millions upon millions of dollars to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning solution that cost just as much to maintain and takes two years to deploy.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 6 is planned to be released in the later part of 2011.  Microsoft Dynamics AX is intended for medium sized to large sized companies.  This solution is suited for the discrete manufacturing industry, distribution industry, process manufacturing industry, retail industry, services industry, and public sector.  Microsoft offers demos and trials of their products, including Microsoft Dynamics AX, on this website. This Enterprise Resource Planning solution is said to be user-friendly and functionally robust.
