Where O Where is the Perfect HRMS Vendor?

There is so many Human Resource Management Systems or HRMS vendors on the market today that one may often feel like they are endlessly fishing in the Pacific Ocean for one elusive species.  Sometimes when there are too many options we lose ourselves in all the choices.  Finding that one elusive HRMS vendor with a perfect HRMS solution that suits our business needs in every way becomes a quite impossible task.  Unfortunately, we can’t simply put a wanted post on Craigslist for the perfect HRMS system.  If we could it would go something like this, “where o where is the perfect HRMS vendor with the perfect HRMS solution for a small company in need of HRMS software for five hard working elves from the North Pole”.  Okay, so the elf part sounds crazy but my point is that some businesses are incredibly unique and need very specific HRMS functionality.

When faced with an important task like selecting an HRMS vendor solution, start by narrowing down the types of solutions you’re most interested in.  For example, you your budget can only afford a SaaS (software as a service) HRMS solution, then only direct your attention towards SaaS HRMS solutions.  Yes, all those other solutions may be tempting to look at but they’ll prove to be a waste of your time.  If you are set on going with an open source HRMS solution for various reasons, then do your best to spend your time researching these types of solutions.  Proprietary on-site HRMS solutions are the most abundant solutions.  However, it’s interesting to note that many smaller and medium sized companies are opting for web based hosted solutions.  There are also ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning solutions rich in HRMS functionality.  If you need a solution to run your enterprise and your HRMS department, consider this type of solution.  No matter which solution you choose, it must suit your business needs, your budget, and enable your business to realize a return on investment.

If you’re overwhelmed with the task of finding the perfect HRMS vendor with the perfect HRMS solution to perfectly suit your business, elicit the help of your employees.  Getting feedback from your technical and functional folks may be just what you need.  This feedback may take some of the weight off your shoulders because perfection isn’t always an easy thing to come by.
