New Age ERP Solutions

Happy New Year to all of you Enterprise Resource Planning enthusiast!  Isn’t it great that technology continues to evolve and provide us homo sapiens with great things like cloud Enterprise Resource Planning solutions, way cool apps for our phones, and of course Logitech’s new remote control.  While phone apps are incredibly important and some people can’t live without their television remote, we are going to discuss Enterprise Resource Planning solutions in this article.

Enterprise Resource Planning solutions simplify and streamline business process to lower overhead costs.  Enterprise Resource Planning vendors are constantly redesigning and upgrading their products to offer potential customers greater returns on their ERP investment and to remain competitive in this down economy.  Microsoft giant is releasing Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 in hopes that this functionally rich solution will entice potential ERP customers. Microsoft Dynamics SL is Microsoft’s best selling ERP product, which is intended to meet the needs of medium sized companies in various industries.

NetSuite is doing their best to stay competitive in the Enterprise Resource Planning game.  NetSuite’s latest version of their ERP solution is called OneWorld.  This version is now integrated with Google Apps.  Now NetSuite customers can link their gmail account, Google Docs, and Google Calendars to NetSuite’s OneWorld ERP.  OneWorld also contains global inventory management functionality and a customizable tax engine.

Of course Oracle Corporation doesn’t want to be left out of the new age Enterprise Resource Planning game.  Oracle palled up with Amazon to offer Oracle applications over the Amazon EC2 PaaS (Platform as a Service).  Oracle also recently released a new machine called Exalogic.  Exalogic is the first machine of its kind.  This machine offers a fully integrated middleware solution with a cloud of its very own.

We are bound to see some pretty cool technologies evolve as the year passes us by.  The evolution of new technology is a must for businesses to stay competitive.  However, it’s not the only important factor when looking for an Enterprise Resource Planning software solution.  It’s great to purchase an ERP software solution from a vendor that is consistently upgrading their products, however it’s also important to find an Enterprise Resource Planning vendor with a good reputation.  Find an ERP vendor that you are comfortable working with especially if you plan to use the vendor’s services for implementation and upgrade needs.
