Microsoft Dynamics Axapta ERP is a Popular and Cost Effective Solution

Microsoft Dynamics Axapta is a web-enabled ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning solution.  The newer version of Microsoft Dynamics Axapta is called Microsoft Dynamics AX.  Microsoft Axapta ERP is a popular solution, which is rich in accounting functionality including; bank management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, human resources, payroll, cost management, and expense management.   Microsoft Dynamics Axapta ERP also offers robust functionality to manage customer relations, track inventory, manage costs, manage supplies, manage production, track workflow, and maintain compliance with government regulatory demands.

Microsoft Dynamics Axapta ERP is a relatively low cost Tier 1 solution when compared to other Tier 1 Enterprise Resource Planning solutions. Businesses can plan to spend around one hundred thousand dollars for the software for a ten user implementation.  Other comparable Tier 1 Enterprise Resource Planning solutions cost millions of dollars for a ten user implementation.  Another benefit to Axapta ERP, besides cost, is how highly customizable the solution is.  And, customizations aren’t difficult to do because Axapta ERP has the ability to populate the interface automatically with newly customized fields.  Axapta ERP can be run on an Oracle database or Microsoft SQL Server.  Multi-lingual, multi-currency and multi-local capabilities has made Axapta ERP a global ready solution.  Axapta ERP also has built-in and ready to use remote capabilities, which are important in today’s world where telecommuting is the norm.

Microsoft was a relatively late comer to the Enterprise Resource Planning market.  However, they are now (in 2011) one of the top five Enterprise Resource Planning vendors in the world as they have quickly gained market share over the past decade.  Microsoft is looking to take even more of the Enterprise Resource Planning market share with their recent HP (Hewlett Packard) joint venture.  Microsoft and HP joined forces to develop solutions to further enhance Microsoft’s enterprise software solutions with the release of appliances, which will help customers deploy and operate Microsoft’s solutions in a more timely and pain free manner.

Many folks like Microsoft’s enterprise software solutions because they resemble Microsoft’s Windows solutions.  Familiarity often breeds complacency, which in this case may help the software giant sell product.  In general, people don’t like change and they don’t have to change very much at all to adapt to a Microsoft Enterprise Resource Planning solution.
