Top ERP Software Providers of On-Site Solutions

The top ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software providers of on-site ERP solutions are SAP, Oracle, Infor, QAD, Microsoft Dynamics, and Sage Solutions.  In the remainder of this article we are going to discuss each of these ERP vendors and the solutions they offer.

SAP is a top ERP software provider.  They have over thirty-five thousand customers worldwide and are the largest ERP manufacturer in the world.  Based in Germany, this ERP vendor operates in over one hundred different countries.  The software functionality produced by SAP as part of their ERP solution includes; supply chain management, distribution, manufacturing, human resources, payroll, and customer relationship management (CRM).  Expect to spend millions of dollars to implement a complete SAP ERP solution if you are a large company.

Oracle competes with SAP on the worldwide ERP market front.  Oracle is headquartered in Redwood Shores, California and is the second largest ERP company in the world.  Oracle’s ERP solution includes the following functionality; distribution, accounting, manufacturing, supply chain, payroll, human resource and CRM.  Oracle has grown their ERP solution by several acquisitions, which include J.D. Edwards and PeopleSoft.

Infor is another ERP vendor that has performed several acquisitions to grow their ERP solution.  Infor is the third largest ERP company in the world.  Infor’s ERP solution is suited for global companies.

QAD is a top ERP software provider located in Santa Barbara, California.  QAD’s ERP solution is operating in over ninety different countries.  The software functionality produced by QAD as part of their ERP solution includes; manufacturing, logistics management, CRM and EAM.  Some of this functionality is thanks to QAD’s acquisitions of Precision Software, Bisgen, and FBO Systems.

Microsoft Dynamics offers four ERP solutions called Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Microsoft Dynamics SL.  This software giant and top ERP software provider only recently made its way into the ERP market, in part, by acquiring Great Plains Software, Solomon, RealWorld, FRX, Navison Software, and Axapta.  Microsoft’s ERP solutions are best suited for small and medium sized businesses.

Sage Solutions offers an ERP solution for the small business market.  This company is based out of England and California.  Sage Solutions’ ERP solutions are known to be very user-friendly.  Implementations are known to be rather quick when compared with other on-site ERP solutions.  Sage Solutions is also known to price their ERP products very competitively.
