ERP SoftwareEnterprise Security SoftwareToday, businesses of all types and sizes face the challenge of keeping their data secure while maintaining the integrity of the enterprise’s structural design and its operational productivity. Enterprise Security Software provides solutions that are flexible and affordable, while also being scalable enough to meet the needs of large enterprises. Today there are many Enterprise Security Software systems on the market helping businesses keep their information secure. The need for such systems is obvious. Businesses without such systems tend to lose anywhere from three percent to six percent of annual revenue due to lax security. The irony is that the same technologies that yield increased business profit make the business more susceptible to breaches of security. Often, security initiatives converge on protected procedures meant to keep outsiders from getting right of entry. And, while this is an important function of enterprise security software, it is also key to focus on the possibility of insiders manipulating privileges in order to misuse company funds or steal confidential data. So what is the best way to make sure a business will be able to keep its information safe and sound? There are some general guidelines which can be followed to help enterprises assess the security of their network. Microsoft has made some suggestions: the first thing for a company to do is evaluate the environment and become familiar with its components. It is important to understand the overall value of the current security program –for example, what are its strengths and what are its risks? At that point, security policies need to be instituted. If there is something left lacking a security policy, these must be removed from the business network. Computers connected to the Internet are always at risk. Hackers and attackers are constantly trying to send viruses through. Consequently, firewall deployments need to be updated and maintained. In addition, authentication should also be required in order to keep remote access secure. Businesses need to take ample steps to reinforce the security of their internal infrastructure including the core operating systems and major applications. As well, businesses need to put multi-factor authentication techniques such as smart cards into place, particularly for the most sensitive accounts. A company called Entrust offers solutions for data protection such as e-mail encryption and digital signatures. As a result, it has developed a trustworthy relationship with diverse enterprises like Citibank and the U.S. Department of State. |
