ERP SoftwareMicrosoft ERP softwareIn order to provide businesses with more complete solutions for managing inventory, budgets, and people resources, technology continued to evolve from earlier MRPII systems. In 1990, the Gartner firm began to use the phrase enterprise resource planning, or ERP, to refer to this integrated computer-based systems which manage a business’ resources with the express purpose of improving corporate functions such as inventory control, procurement, distribution, and finance. Although the first written record of the company today known as Microsoft occurred in November 1975, its involvement with Microsoft ERP software did not begin until this decade when it purchased Great Plains Software in 2001 and Navision in 2002 to form the Microsoft Business Solutions Group. In 2002, Navision became even further identified with Micrsoft ERP software. First developed as accounting software in Denmark close to twenty-five years ago, it has since become one of the leading, comprehensive business ERP solutions from any vendor. During this time, Microsoft placed the software, then still known as Navision, on the market. At the time, it was considered innovative because it allowed businesses to make key alterations due to the addition of an application language, and it was able to gain support for Windows 95. Today, Microsoft Dynamics NAV is one of the best known Microsoft ERP software solutions available to businesses. In 2005, in order to bring together all its ERP software products, Microsoft renamed its ERP offerings. Great Plains’ name was changed to Microsoft Dynamics GP, Navision became Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and Solomon was changed to Microsoft Dynamics SL. Microsoft Business Solutions develops and promotes products for Microsoft Dynamics that manage financial, and supply chain management functions for small and midsize businesses, large organizations, and even global enterprises. These integrated, adaptable business solutions work with other, well-known Microsoft software to streamline processes across companies. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, Research shows that this software is a valuable business management tool that works by dependably and significantly reducing costs and increasing profit for a company. This Microsoft ERP software is able to inter-connect the workforce as well as the workings of the business -seamlessly. |
