ERP Manufacturing

Manufacturing ERP Software Flagstaff

Almost from its inception, the city of Flagstaff, Arizona has been a manufacturing town. Sometime in the 1860’s Congress sent Lieutenant Edward Beale to build a road across the territory of what is now known as northern Arizona. Lt. Beale sent glowing reports back to the government informing them that the Flagstaff area was rich in grasslands, water and timber. Not quite twenty years later, the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad arrived in Flagstaff effectively ending the town’s isolation. Almost as an immediate consequence, entrepreneurs learned they could make money manufacturing goods needed by the construction and maintenance crews and so set up shop.

By the time Flagstaff was incorporated as a town, it was already known for its thriving commercial center. Today, this reputation continues with many businesses making their base in the area. In fact, almost ten percent of the Arizona workforce is employed in manufacturing in fields such as defense, high technology, and aerospace, and all of these businesses need manufacturing ERP software in order to run better and competently handle some of the newer challenges facing manufacturing today. No longer can a business thrive without the capacity to adapt to a constantly fluctuation consumer demand or respond to retailers requirements.  This is necessary as well as pursuing the ongoing struggle to generate new business, move into newer, emerging markets, and increase profits.

What is needed to assist Flagstaff manufacturing businesses hoping to thrive is ERP, or enterprise resource planning, which has been designed specifically to manage and control all the processes of production planning. Manufacturing ERP software systems are applications which, when successful, integrate all the varied data sources and differing processes of a business into one, information sharing, unified system. The entire process of production planning encompasses scheduling the acquisition and purchase of resources and raw materials, and then arranging and organizing all the production activities required to transform those resources and raw materials into finished products -all while making customers happy in the most cost-effective, and most careful, way possible. Other processes are subsequently calculated based on the numbers necessary to meet purchase orders per the pre-set production time cycles, as well as fact-laden estimates of expected future sales.

This software solution is such a boon to businesses that research has shown that companies which utilize manufacturing ERP software to manage their production planning have increased productivity, in addition to a reduction of unused inventory. Both of which translate into increased business and increased profits.
