ERP Software

ERP Software, Miami

When you think of cutting edge implementation centers and dynamic hubs for ERP software, Miami may not be the first city that comes to mind. In fact, because of Miami’s sensitive coastline and beautiful ecologically fragile environment, ERP in Miami more often has to do with environmental resource distribution, water management and water use permits. But don’t underestimate this area’s level of expertise and personal experience with ERP Software. Miami has been home to some of the most extensive implementations in the two decade history of ERP business solutions. And now that the landscape is shifting and ERP vendors and providers are turning their attention to smaller and mid-sized business clients, the relationship between business and integration technology in Miami shows no sign of slowing down.

In fact, if you’re looking for work and you’ve taken an organization through an ERP implementation or have experience with ERP software, Miami may be a great place to relocate. Businesses use ERP software in Miami to control inventory and warehousing , manage customer relationships, and run back office business tools like human resources, accounting, and payroll applications. Like businesses and large organizations in many other cities, Miami companies first took an interest in ERP software solutions in the early 1990s when applications for the new technology began to extend beyond the world of manufacturing. Miami’s many service oriented firms in construction and pharmaceuticals, as well as universities and government offices (including Miami-Dade County public schools), began implementing systems to unify their disparate and outdated legacy software platforms. By the middle of the next decade, ERP had become a household word among CIOs and enterprise level firms. As large businesses began to see returns on their investments in ERP software, Miami small and mid-sized business owners began taking and interest in systems of their own. But until large providers began turning downstream and courting smaller clients, complete ERP architectures remained slightly out of reach for companies with smaller technology budgets.

At this point, the software integration options for small businesses in Florida are extensive, and small businesses are making the best of the situation and reviewing their ERP choices carefully before making commitments. Small providers and developers have appeared on the scene to offer inexpensive industry specific software options. Freeware and open source solutions are available for almost no cost over the internet. And hosting solutions are providing the option of outsourcing ERP applications, or offering shared server access for a rental fee, which allows small businesses to sidestep the cost of owning and maintaining their own systems. Meanwhile, competitive pressures are pushing the established large providers like SAP and Microsoft to customize their solutions and scale their products suites to accommodate smaller budgets.
