ERP SolutionsLet’s Compare ERP Solutions for Big BusinessesIf you’re a fortune 500 company, or just a really successful company with a lot of loot to spend, looking to get the big kahoona in terms of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, then read this article as we compare ERP solutions. The first place big kahoona prize goes to SAP. SAP created the world’s largest ERP solution, although Oracle (especially Larry Ellison) would beg to differ. SAP didn’t acquire companies to acquire functionality. Instead, SAP built their Enterprise Resource Planning products from the ground up. SAP offers an Enterprise Resource Planning solution that is comprehensive and comes with extensive functionality. You may pay a pretty penny for an SAP ERP solution, but you will get a lot out of it. SAP’s ERP software is suited for all industries. Next up on the big kahoona list is Oracle. Let’s compare ERP solutions offered by SAP and Oracle. SAP built their solution from the ground up (as I mentioned earlier). Oracle on the other hand acquired quite a bit of their ERP functionality by acquiring companies like; PeopleSoft, Red Pepper Siebel, and JD Edwards. Even though Oracle has acquired part of their functionality, they offer a comprehensive and robust ERP solution. Now, an Oracle ERP solution is not going to be cheap, but it will be darn effective. Oracle makes applications for all sized companies. Oracle’s Enterprise Resource Planning solutions are suited for all industries. Now we will compare ERP solutions by Microsoft. Microsoft entered the ERP market rather late in life. And, they are still working to develop their Enterprise Resource Planning solutions. Microsoft has done some acquiring like Oracle and some building like SAP. And, they are holding their own in the big bad competitive ERP market. Microsoft has a few different ERP solutions for different sized businesses. However, they really haven’t reached the Oracle and SAP caliber. Although, keep your eyes on them because you never know what the future might hold. NetSuite offers a great ERP solution. They are a leading vendor on on-demand software. Their Enterprise Resource Planning solution is quite comprehensive and they specialize in customer relationship management, order fulfillment, inventory, accounting, product assembly, and ecommerce solutions. There are so many more Enterprise Resource Planning solutions on the market today. Comparing them all ERP solutions is impossible. Before you compare ERP solutions, determine what your business needs are. |
