Getting Down to Business with ERP Comparisons

In this article we are going to get down to business with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) comparisons.  We are going to talk numbers, functionality, and target markets.  So, let’s get to it and compare ERP solutions.

SAP is headquartered in Germany.  Their main target market includes customers making profits over two hundred million dollars annually.  SAP runs on Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and IBM’s DB2 database.  The sky is the limit as far as the functionality SAP’s ERP provides.  This is a pricey solution.

Dynacom makes an Enterprise Resource Planning product called Enterprise ERP.  The average cost per user is twelve hundred dollars.  The average cost of the ERP solution is thirty thousand dollars.  Dynacom has approximately four thousand ERP customers worldwide.  Dynacom is a small shop when compared to SAP’s ERP.  Their target market includes customers making profits between five to nine million dollars annually.  When you compare ERP solutions, don’t discount the smaller vendors as they can sometimes better cater to your needs.  Dynacom’s Enterprise Resource Planning offers the following functionality; financial, human resources, distribution, and professional services automation.  Other functionality is available in customizations.

Sage Software makes an ERP product called Sage Accpac 500 ERP.  The average cost per user is approximately fifteen hundred dollars.  The average implementation cost is fifteen to thirty thousand dollars and the target customer makes five hundred thousand to one hundred million dollars annually.  Sage’s ERP solution is easy to integrate with other applications.  They offer human resources functionality, professional services automation functionality, service management functionality, manufacturing functionality, distribution functionality, and financial functionality.  As we continue to compare ERP solutions, you’ll notice that the smaller ERP vendors don’t offer the amount of functionality offered by the bigger shops.

SYSPRO offers an ERP product that will cost you about twenty-five hundred per user.  The total cost to purchase and implement this ERP will be about sixty thousand dollars.  SYSPRO’s target customer makes fifty to two hundred million dollars annually.  SYSPRO’s Enterprise Resource Planning solution has financial functionality, distribution functionality and manufacturing functionality.

IHPN Business Systems makes a product called Quantus ERP.  The average cost per user is three thousand dollars and Quantus ERP will cost you approximately eighty thousand dollars for the whole shebang.  IHPN Business Systems targets customers that make less than five million dollars annually.  The Quantus ERP solution provides financial functionality, distribution functionality and manufacturing functionality.
