ERP Vendors

ERP Vendor Comparison

ERP software vendors are in business to sell applications designed and developed to help companies run their operations more effectively. The industry looks to ERP vendors to provide software which will organize, manage, and run organizations. Enterprise software vendors supply software that supports businesses’ efforts to reduce costs while increasing both productivity and earnings. These vendors provide systems that integrate the data coming in from all departments in a company, as well as the technology to guarantee that the software operates the way it should.

Today, there are more ERP vendors than ever before.  While this helps the consumer by driving costs down, it also makes the process of comparing ERP vendors much more complex. ERP is not all the same and neither are ERP vendors.

Before attempting to look at the advantages and disadvantages of each ERP software package, it is necessary to first divide these systems into categories. Different sized businesses of dissimilar industry types cannot use the same ERP.  Therefore, the most obvious categories that need to be examined are: small companies, middle market businesses, and larger enterprises.

The current market shows the two top ERP vendors for large businesses are SAP and Oracle, with a fifty-six percent of the market share between them. NetSuite is a top vendor for the middle-market organizations. And, Microsoft Dynamic is the top ERP vendor for small and medium businesses.

SAP was founded in 1972 and has always been considered a leader in the ERP industry. This vendor is known for its suite offerings designed to be implemented by large, global enterprises. SAP’s ERP software solutions help businesses optimize performance.

For close to thirty years, Oracle has been thought of as the best vendor for database technology and applications. It was the first software vendor to set up internet enabled enterprise resource planning software throughout its products. Included in this innovation were databases, applications, and decision support tools.

A top vendor of ERP software for middle market businesses is NetSuite, founded in 1998. NetSuite software is able to host all key business operations in a central system.  The vendor prides itself in the quality of service and support given to each of their thousands of customers. It is the only company to offer web based business application for the midsize business market.

Microsoft Dynamics’ software fares well in any ERP vendor comparison because the features of the software are perfectly aligned with the needs of small and medium sized businesses. This vendor offers an easy and effective way for a business to control its manufacturing and distribution, as well as a resilient accounting function to organize the company’s finances. Microsoft markets top quality products at an affordable cost.
