ERP SoftwareERP Software ReviewsThe market for enterprise resource planning software continues to have plenty of room for growth. According to financial analysts, increasing revenues for maintenance fees, new acquisitions, penetration of new industries, and emerging markets such as China, will be the forces pushing this ERP software market growth over the next 5 years. Experts believe the market will reach $25 billion by 2011. The ERP software market is currently worth about $18 billion dollars, and the prediction is that it will grow at a CAGR of 6.7 per cent. Innovation is the key for vendors to claim some of this growth. Businesses expect solutions from their ERP purchase and only the ERP with the best reviews will emerge victorious. ERP software reviews are conducted by vendors, experts, and independent survey companies. It is a good idea to look at reviews conducted by independent sources in order to get the most unbiased opinions. Another important factor to consider is how the review categorizes the software solutions. Many divide them by the size of the company they service. For example, Tier 1, middle-market, and entry level labels are often used. Another valid divider is the type of industry the ERP software has been design to service. Software that works perfectly with manufacturing plants may not succeed at all in a retail business, and so on. Currently, some of the vendors selling software solutions at the top of ERP software reviews are Microsoft; Oracle, particularly now with its takeover of PeopleSoft products; and, SAP. Microsoft is one of the few top vendors which sells ERP software for smaller companies as well as for the larger enterprises. It sells packages under the names Navision Software, Great Plains, and Solomon. These packages are found at the top of any review, and will most likely stay there because Microsoft continues to innovate designs and improve the products, making them more user friendly. Oracle’s ERP software solutions always rank high on reviews, also. This vendor sells high quality products that businesses report improve their operations and are easy to use. SAP ERP assists companies get control of data handling without adding an arduous implementation time line. Their software solutions easily integrate with legacy systems being used by the business. |
