ERP Software

ERP supports Nonprofit Accounting software

Nonprofit organizations have special needs. And they require nonprofit accounting software that can get the job done. Such software supported by Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), is designed to do just that; because it can provide the tools that can meet the challenges of managing financial data, attracting new funding sources, and furthering the goals of the organization’s mission. This software goes beyond the regular tasks of writing checks, paying employees, and budgeting, to address the essential requirements of nonprofit organizations, such as tracking the records of funding sources, managing grant programs, scheduling special events, and coordination with external contacts.

For nonprofit organizations the profit motive is not the same as for commercial business interests. The emphasis is not on increasing shareholder value, but rather on the social impact of their fundraising, organization, and distribution of services. Their shareholders are the people who support them and the people that they serve. And these groups come in all different shapes, sizes, forms and flavors from health and human services organizations, schools, religious entities, community developer groups, to foundations, associations, and special interest groups

Nonprofits have a major responsibility to report financials and mission goals to a broad audience. These go beyond staff to include funding sources, boards of directors, potential donors ... They have to provide important financial information and data about the impact of fund allocations, projects and programs. Non-profit accounting software with a twist of enterprise resource planning (ERP) can allow groups to provide reports documenting both past fund management and the outcomes of initiatives, as well as plans for future endeavors.
The unpredictable nature of funding is always a challenge for nonprofit organizations. If you have an endowment or yearly grant, that’s great; but nonprofits can’t always be sure of where the money is going to come from. They understand that cash management is of utmost importance. Keeping tabs on expenses, now and for the future, as well as building resources and shedding waste is always an important consideration.

Non-profit organizations need Non-profit accounting software and ERP to ensure communications across a number of touch points. These organizations need software that accounts for continuity, when financial decision makers rotate or move on. It needs to flexible enough for staff that work part time, volunteer, or who work mostly outside of the office. That’s why with frequently changing user groups and users who may be unfamiliar with accounting software technologies, ease-of-use is a critical requirement for non-profit software.
