Discrete Manufacturing ERP Solution Vendors

Discrete manufacturing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions streamline your processes and make your shop floor more efficient saving your company money.  There are five popular discrete manufacturing ERP solutions on the market and they are; SAP, Oracle, Sage, QAD, and Infor.  If you select one of these vendors to provide your discrete manufacturing ERP solution, then you will be well taken care of.  These vendor’s discrete manufacturing ERP solutions have robust functionality that can take care of just about any discrete manufacturing process and any type of manufacturing company.  In fact, functionality is one of the most, if not the most, important factor to consider when selecting a discrete manufacturing ERP solution.  Another factor to consider when selecting a discrete manufacturing ERP solution is the architecture of the solution and the environment the solution requires being ran in to enable you to get the most out of it.  You will most likely pay millions of dollars for an ERP solution from one of the top five ERP vendors mentioned above.  So, why not set yourself up to eke everything out of that solution that you possibly can.  More bang for your buck, so to speak.

Never forget to do your due diligence and research the ERP vendor.  Determine how successful the Enterprise Resource Planning vendor is.  It’s best to find a successful vendor with good customer relations that has a good reputation and plans to be in business for a long time to come.  I think you’d be safe with one of the five Enterprise Resource Planning vendors mentioned.

There are several discrete manufacturing ERP solutions offered by smaller vendors.  Some of these smaller vendors include; IFS, Microsoft, Lawson, and CDC Software.  These vendors don’t offer the robust functionality offered by SAP, Oracle, Sage, QAD, and Infor.  However, you shouldn’t discount these vendors.  If you’re a small manufacturer in need of a smaller discrete manufacturing ERP solution, then you might want to go with one of these smaller vendors.  Smaller discrete manufacturing ERP solutions will cost less than the robust solutions.  No matter if you choose a small ERP solution or a robust solution from a large vendor, make sure the vendor offers support services.  For example, if you’re having a problem migrating data from your old system to your new discrete manufacturing ERP solution it will be nice to hire the vendor to assist.
