The Spotlight on ERP Future Solutions

What does the future of Enterprise Resource Planning look like? No one knows for sure, but if you ask anyone today, ERP future solutions are looking pretty good. If you go back some 40 years ago when Enterprise Resource Planning was first established as Manufacturing Resource Planning, you’ll see that a lot has taken place since then. Today, going forward, this market is showing no signs of stagnation or retreat. In fact, more small and midsized companies are now jumping on the ERP bandwagon and finding it a great way to grow their business.

When you’re dealing with technology nothing remains the same for long because there is just too much innovation taking place. Tech companies are always coming up with something new and the competition to keep is stiff. One of the areas in which techies are involved right now, is mobilizing ERP. Can you imagine accessing it through your cell phone or PDA? Well, that’s what they’re working on. And remember when ERP was all about hardware and software installation? Well those days are not gone, but you can get by without the installed hardware. That’s because new Web-based ERP software packages are dropping costs and making the software more user friendly; and that’s progress.

So we’ve gone to Web-based systems and now we’re working on mobile. The vast array of business operations applications modules is also rising and clients can even have a system customized, to meet their particular needs. Not bad, huh? When you speak of ERP future solutions you’re talking about continued progressive steps that will make enterprise resource planning even more popular than it is today. And it’s not just the business community that is taking advantage of this integrated software package; nonprofit organizations and governments are using it too.

Enterprise resource planning is especially inviting for small businesses, because it gives them the opportunity to deploy it in just one or a few business units, or it can be applied throughout the whole organization. It can make a small company appear bigger than it actually is, and that can come in handy with customer relations.

From today’s perspective, ERP future solutions would appear to be constant and on the move. And as tech companies continue to innovate and come up with new ideas for applications and usage, it seems more than likely that the future looks very bright indeed for ERP.
