The Three Little Pigs Retold

Once upon a time there were three little pigs.  They were getting large and fat and took up too much space, not to mention they were messy, so their mother kicked them out of the pig pen.  Their father was glad to see them go, but knew he would miss them dearly.  So, father pig decided to give his three little pigs a send off gift.  Each little pig received some Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.  Father pig said, “take advantage of your ERP software as it will help you in this big world”.  The three little pigs oinked at their father and headed off in three different directions.

The first little pig had 500 dollars.  He wasn’t good at budgeting his money and didn’t care much about his needs as he had always been given everything by mother and father pig.  The ERP software his father gave him had a finance module, which the little pig could have used to budget for his future.  But, like some small businesses (large ones too) he didn’t take advantage of his ERP software and soon ran out of money.  The first little pig wondered around the town and lived in a box until he died and then he was made into bacon.

The second little pig had lots of connections.  If he wanted a job, he could simply call up one of his connections and have a job.  If he wanted to sell his belongings, he could simply call up one of his connections and sell whatever he needed to sell.  This little pig was the social pig.  Tragically, one day while he was trotting down the street, he was hit by a horse.  The pig suffered permanent loss of all memory.  He couldn’t remember any of his connections.  Unfortunately, he didn’t take advantage of his ERP Customer Relationship Management software his dad gave him.  If he had, he would have had all of his connections (customers) logged.  The second little pig wondered around the town and lived in a box until he died and then he was made into bacon.

The third little pig was smart.  He decided to manufacture pig ears.  He took advantage of the ERP Manufacturing and Supply Chain modules his father gave him.  He was able to keep track of all his processes, eliminating errors, and making his company more efficient and very profitable.  This little pig ended up in hog heaven.
