Customers, in turn, rely on the services of all the participating entities in the merger for customer and technical support or technical training. For all these reasons, mergers, especially among big players, are extremely valuable and, considering all the multiple gains customers derive from them, realistically cost effective for a buyer in the long run.

Erp Cost Considerations for Buyers in Their Search for the Appropriate Erp Software Solution (Part I)

Why Potential Customers Should Buy Products From Mergers if They Are Able to Afford it

How the Current Saturation of the Market Affects erp cost Options for Buyers
On the other side of the coin, the ERP and Internet and information technology market sectors are currently so saturated with products and services of so many different varieties, that it has become what is termed as a “buyers ” market, with a wide number of options to choose from at both low and high erp cost. The major drawback to this, of course, is that buyers have problems finding and choosing the best and most appropriate erp software for their specific individual needs, because there is such a huge variety of them on the market.

This is the reason why a erp vendor’s customization and diversification potential as applied to their software products is a major factor to be taken into account by buyers, because it is a determinant in ensuring that the chosen product or service is fully customized to meet their single (or multiple depending on the choice) business needs, that it is integrated successfully into their company functions, and that it is adequately compatible (note that the element of compatibility is dependent upon the vendor’s customization and diversification potential) with their main server support platforms that conform with the standards of the IT industry, and which are popularly used by the general audience of Internet users worldwide on a regular and, in some cases, daily basis.

SaaS erp Cost Compared to that of Traditional ERP Systems
In certain cases, some businesses (especially small companies or start-ups) may decide to buy an SaaS solution - instead of traditional ERP-, at lower erp cost for engaging in local erp implementation or for adapting the solution to their specific single needs. As noted in previous articles, the basic differences between SaaS – “Software as a Service” - ERP solutions and traditional ERP software systems, rests on the fact that a customer’s erp software is hosted by the vendor/provider, and installed in the latter’s own servers. The vendor/ provider takes care of the general maintenance of the software, relieving the customer from the burden of dealing with the operation of functional aspects of the software.

This may appear to be an advantage, considering that they are more erp cost-effective and much cheaper than traditional erp systems, but on the downside, the customer is never fully in control of their SaaS erp solution. This is why SaaS ERP are offered at lower erp cost than traditional ERP systems, which however, while they may be more expensive, this is due to the very fact that they possess more applications and multi purpose functions as well as user options than SaaS erp - which is more adequate for local operations confined to a single or minimal number of market sectors, than for global ERP deployment.
