Have you been to Brussels lately. If so, you were probably not aware that the big reach of the European Union (EU) is powered by enterprise resource planning (ERP). This is what powers the vast workings of the infrastructure that manages Europe’s business and connects all of its member States. Europe EU makes life much easier for administrators and technicians who are responsible for the day to day operations of an organization that has to deal with not only its 27 member countries, but with contacts around the world, as well. Mainframes just wouldn’t cut it with such a broad and extended organization as this. The EU is administered from Brussels, Belgium, but it also has offices in every member State. And while the European Commission handles the day to day business affairs of the EU, there are many other institutions involved.

ERP Software

ERP EU is on the Continent

The EU includes a number of independent institutions that operate on a supranational. Some of these include the European Parliament, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Council, the court of Auditors and the European Central Bank, which administers the euro currency. It takes a powerful piece of software to accommodate that type of set up, but ERP can rise to the occasion. Increasingly, governments and institutions that service them are turning to enterprise software. It’s the only software that can provide a seamless link for operations that are spread over a vast expanse and need real-time connections throughout.

ERP EU has a lot to monitor and track, and they can do it much easier with enterprise software.
There are application modules for so many functions and broad connectivity throughout, so that all of the institutions and member governments are kept in the loop. The IT staff plays a big role in this type of enterprise planning because everything has to be monitored for accurate execution. And there are thousands of employees involved that have to work with this software, as well. An operation that is as big and extended as the EU has to ensure that information and data are not only administered properly, but that security is managed intelligently, as well.

Every member state has a connecting link to the mothership in Brussels, as do all of the Union’s various institutions. Enterprise resource planning provides the type of integration that is necessary to manage such a connected system. And though there is still somewhat of a paper chase with so many institutions and people, document distribution can be tracked and managed much more effectively. With ERP, the coordination can be handled with application modules that are designed to run the system; sort of like a system within a system. This makes for much fewer errors and gives greater insight into operations as a whole.

As the EU continues to grow and take in new members, it will already have in place the broad platform it needs to manage operations in Brussels and across borders. Enterprise software, after all, knows nothing of boundaries or borders. That is why it is the go to software of the day.

Just ask ERP EU.
