Today, there are many small businesses considering making the move to enterprise resource planning (ERP). And it’s easy to see why; the advantages are much too many to ignore. The access to enterprise software is also more easily available for smaller companies than it used to be. They were pretty much left on the outside looking in; because, to gain entry into the enterprise ranks you had to have a fat pocketbook. But now that is not the case and small firms making an ERP consensus are deciding that it is a smart move to make. ERP can now be accessed online, as Software as a Service, on-demand. That means small players can join the enterprise game. Many of them have already done so and are enjoying new found success. Talks with small distributors have indicated that ERP has helped them to grow their business. ERP SoftwareTaking an ERP ConsensusSmall manufacturers are also finding success with ERP. They can now make-to-order, mode-to-order or design-to-order much easier than they could before. And they can do it cost effectively. Supply chain management, which can include such functions as inventory, purchasing, materials management, the warehouse … can all now be placed on one applications module for greater effect. This saves both time and money in execution of these functions. Small accountants and financial managers have been able to obtain more business by showing how much more effective they can be in accounting administration, without adding substantial costs. |
