The Special additional Features of TWITTER as a Very efficient Medium in Bringing the erp Vendor/Customer Relationship to a More Personal and Intimate Level of Friendship

ERP Software Solutions

Further Considerations On the Multiple Advantages and Benefits Which Vendors of ERP Software Solutions and their Customers Can Derive by “Linking” or Connecting their Existing Accounts to the Various Popular Social Media Outlets (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, and others)- Including Blog Sites and Online Discussion Forums.(Part II)

Twitter possesses several unique characteristics which are extremely beneficial to companies providing erp software solutions. It can be used to update customers in real-time on a day-to-day basis, even concerning company routines. It is in fact already being used on a wide scale by co workers to collaborate on projects or potential issues. Among its primary functions, it allows the subscriber to send instant, real-time online messages up to 140 words in length. This restriction on the number of characters allowed has led to the labeling of sites like Twitter -as well as Youtube - as “Microbloggers,” deriving from the term “micro-blogging,” due to their programs’ limited potential for encoding a larger number of characters in the text of the messages.

Because of this limited number of characters per “Tweet”, as these short messages are termed, buyers of erp software solutions can be kept updated on a regular basis regarding new software updates, add-ons and newer versions. It can be used in this manner by company employees, managers, and CEOs as long as it is done in moderate measure, and without incurring fears of “Spamming” or unwanted advertisements among their customer base thanks to the short length of text permitted for each Tweet.

For instance, if a CEO wanted to inform his customers on recent developments regarding the company’s various erp software solutions, all he or she would need to do is type a Tweet of only five or eight words in length, such as: “New upgrade available; version 2.14.11 -- download directly from our site - and perhaps he might wish to personalize it with a personal comment or humorous remark directed to the specific buyer or individual, in order to make the interaction interesting, socially engaging and also fun for both the customer and CEO.

In turn, the Tweet could be displayed on the company website, or official Facebook and Youtube pages as well, provided that the seller of erp software solutions also has subscribed to these other social media networking sites (Facebook or Youtube) which enable one to link accounts but also, very importantly, to “Embed” their content (a subject to be analyzed further in the following sections) on the respective profiles or homepages of the other networking sites, blogs or discussion forums the subscriber has linked to- (and providing that these other less popular ones give the option of linking to Twitter or Face book – a factor which depends on whether or not they are affiliated in any way with these third parties).

TWITTER is much More than a Marketing Tool as it Bridges the Distances between a Vendor and their Customer Base by Promoting a New Type of “Friendliness” Between Users and Followers Through its Multiple User Options and ERP Applications For comparison, there is recent article in the July 2011 issue of ESPN sports magazine, where their research team conducted a survey on the impact of twitter and how the benefits of its applications can bridge the distances between fans and their favorite sports idols. It demonstrates that Twitter is much more than just a marketing tool, but connects fans and celebrities, vendors and buyers on a much deeper level.
