Microsoft Dynamics SL software is yet another member of the Microsoft Dynamics group of enterprise resource planning products. It is targeted towards small and midsized businesses and excels with project based features for running the enterprise. Like the other members of the Dynamics group, SL easily integrates with Microsoft Office applications. The solutions of this software system are based on business management, project management and flexible accounting functions. SL places an emphasis on the monitoring and tracking of project management and profitability. The application modules for Dynamics SL include manufacturing, supply chain management, field service, e-commerce, finance, project accounting, and analytics. the SL software originated with Solomon Software, which was acquired by Great Plains; Microsoft acquired Great Plains in 2001 ERP SoftwareWorking with Microsoft Dynamics SL Software When making an assessment of all of the Dynamics line of products, some critics have said that SL is not the most stable. The software though is active, mostly in the neighborhood of north America. And while its capabilities may not be as extensive as Dynamics GP or AX, SL works on engineering strategy with other members of the group in order to extend its operational reach. The software was originally structured on a Visual Basic (VB) platform, and then set on VB.Net. It’s backed by 16 bit development code which some enterprise critics feel is dated. The strength of the software lies in its applications for job costing, accounting and project management. |
