An ERP Microsoft Dynamics AX Review

Microsoft Dynamics AX is provides a strong enterprise tool for erp manufacturing and e-commerce, but this software is also very active in in the services and wholesale industries. The features include tools for business intelligence, analytics and reporting on various aspects of operations.

All of the information and data provided are quickly and easily accessible. Workflow management is also a strong component of this software system. You can arrange workflows by specific jobs or for general day to day activity. Dynamics AX provides an enterprise portal for real time interactive communication between the business, its customers and vendors. This is backed by powerful application modules that address such tasks as financial management, bank management, accounts payable and receivable, advanced cost accounting, fixed assets and the general ledger.

When you’re thinking of supply chain management, you’ll find that Microsoft Dynamics AX has robust features for project management and production activities. The manufacturing component is strongly backed by intelligent application modules for planning and production, inventory, planning for materials and their availability, project priority management and role centers for supply chain management. The software is also capable of handling multiple currencies and working from multiple sites. This Microsoft Dynamics AX review can’t do justice to all of the solutions offered by this feature laden software system.

There is however no payroll option with this enterprise software system and some features of the software don’t allow for add-on connections. It is also not a system that would work well as well for small companies because of its cost and pricing structure. There has also been some criticism of the software because of its lack of support for lean manufacturing. It does however have a integration tool, called MorphX, that can facilitate customization with a single click. Overall, the software provides a broad based platform for manufacturing and the supply chain. It can also support manufacturing in both the discrete and batch-process manufacturing modes.

The unique aspects of this software include being able to support multiple transactions, multiple users and operate across multiple sites and languages. The software offers built-in support for languages, currencies and legalities for over 30 countries. And as mentioned earlier, it provides the type of integration and compatibility with other well-known and familiar Microsoft products, such as Office, Windows, Exchange, BizTalk and Microsoft SQL Server.
