The Microsoft Business Solutions group seems to have made a big impression with Microsoft Dynamics software. This family group of products -  Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Axapta), Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains Software), Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision), Microsoft Dynamics SL (formerly Solomon IV), Microsoft Dynamics C5 (formerly Concorde C5) - have been very successful for Microsoft and given the software giant a piece of the enterprise market.  Microsoft has of course experienced great success with its Windows franchise and its packaged software suites. The company was smart and quick in realizing the value Enterprise resource planning (ERP) and the importance of this increasingly expanding market.

Looking at Microsoft Dynamics Software

The enterprise marketplace is a very competitive one, with many software vendors in the mix, both large and small. And as in any marketplace, there is room for specialization in any number of areas. This has been true of the enterprise marketplace as well. Some vendors concentrate on marketing software for accounting, some specialize in manufacturing and distribution, others design software for the whole of the enterprise. The Microsoft Dynamics family of products is designed to handle a number of business administration tasks and for any number of industries.
Microsoft has also been keen to provide an online, hosted, software as a service version of its enterprise software. This is the fastest growing sector of the enterprise marketplace.

Any technology company, regardless of their size, knows that innovation game and being quick to market is the name of the game. That’s why so many software companies are scrambling for position to stay competitive in this very competitive market. Microsoft Dynamics software has been able to increase its share of the market because businesses are familiar with its products and some like to integrate Microsoft’s other products into their enterprise package. These companies have been using Microsoft products for a long time and are familiar with them. The integration of these products with the Dynamics ERP packages makes the system more user friendly and easy to operate.

For a lot of businesses too, Microsoft’s server platforms are in use. the MS SQL Server platform, for example, is used by many companies and the server architecture fits right in with the Dynamics group of products. This also relates to other Microsoft server products, such as MS BizTalk, MS Exchange Server and the Small Business Server. This obviously gives Microsoft a little more pull in the enterprise market, because it can accommodate a business in a number of ways, with its software products and server platforms. The Microsoft Dynamics group can be found handling administrative tasks for not only businesses, but government entities, nonprofits and other types of organizations.

The Dynamics enterprise software group can provide solutions for a number of operations and tasks, ranging from accounting and financials, to manufacturing, supply chain management and retail. The software can also accommodate companies of various sizes, from small businesses to large corporations. The software is also designed to accommodate companies with numerous locations, multilingual languages and multi-currencies.

This software includes all of the application modules and tools for analysis and reporting that any business would appreciate.
