PeopleSoft ERP software began to boast all-inclusive software solutions for businesses and industries. The ERP software tended to speed up performance and increase productivity. In June of that year, Oracle bid for PeopleSoft in a hostile corporate takeover attempt. In February 2004, Oracle increased the initial bid to nine billion dollars, which represent an increase of a full thirty-three percent. The PeopleSoft Board of Directors promptly rejected this second bid also. Finally, at the end of 2004, PeopleSoft ultimately agreed to the purchase price of ten billion dollars offered by Oracle. Oracle completed the acquisition of the company in January 2005.
