Manufacturing ERP software runs the process, pushes the data, supplies data packets, dictates line sequences, tracks the product, distributes an order, receives a shipment, pays the bills, collects the payments, pays taxes, informs the customer, prints the invoices, sends the purchase orders, schedules agreements, tracks maintenance and handles a myriad of chores that are not even listed here.

ERP Manufacturing

Providing the data that passes from customer, through sales, through material management, process management as well as finance and accounting, the importance of manufacturing ERP software in an organization cannot be understated.  The stuff that operations of a manufacturing concern is made is marshaled under the smooth operation of an efficient manufacturing ERP software package.

Manufacturing ERP software is comprised of a number of modules that work together to get an order processed, filled and paid for.  When a sales department enters an order, the manufacturing ERP software kicks in and the process begins.  Materials management must know what the order calls for in terms of materials and parts.  Engineering has worked out the formula to create the desired widget and manufacturing ERP software calls up that formula based on a part number that exists in the system.

Supply chain refers to the formula and order for quantity and delivery schedule makes sure that raw materials are on hand to meet the customer’s needs.  As the communication conduit through which data runs, manufacturing ERP software makes available the information that the production line needs to ensure proper tooling of the right production line when the materials for an order are made available.

Logistics gets ERP information at order placement in order to see to the efficient performance of its role in order fulfillment; receiving and distributing raw materials as needed and then following up with the distribution of completed order on a timely basis.  Delivery/ order fulfillment and customer acceptance information is received, invoices issues and payment received.
It is a cycle repeated over and over again and the development of manufacturing ERP software has provided modern manufacturing with the ability to complete these transactions with increased speed and efficiency.  Volume is the hook on which many manufacturing companies hang their profitability hats these days.  While per item profit margins decrease, bottom lines grow exponentially. Manufacturing ERP software has become an indispensible tool in manufacturing paring down much of the wasted effort of the past and increasing profits across the board.
