Outsourcing of IT administration is becoming more and more common within the business community.  It sometimes makes sense for a small company to leave administration of its technology infrastructure to a company that specializes in that function and ERP software companies provide products that are often widely supportable in an outsourced administrative environment. Many ERP software companies have begun making a living by designing interfaces to link clients to their outsourcers.

Compatible design and technological tools have also begun to butter the bread of increasing numbers of ERP software companies. This adaptability to the modern business paradigm assists the client in making the shift to outsourced support.  While outsource environments are sometimes offshore, they are often located stateside as well and are finding their niche as local concerns and consulting outfits.

ERP software companies are themselves getting into the business of outsourcing. Acting on behalf of their client, an outsourcer is contracted to administer and often BE the information technology department for a company.  This means addressing day-to-day software and hardware support, including the foundation of an organization’s business processes, its ERP software.

ERP Software Companies in an Outsourcing Environment

Outsourcing services have become the logical extension of ERP software companies seeking to expand their own business models and grow their bottom lines. Who better to administer their products than the designer?  Outsourcing has become a common practice for both small and large business and recognition of this fact has produced new services catering to all sorts of industries.

During the process of selecting ERP software for their organizations, businesses are increasingly concerned about the service and support models offered by competing ERP software companies.  The company with the deepest support bench, even to the point of having the capability of taking on information technology functions, in their entirety, often gives a software provider the edge needed to win the day and resultant future business.

Sales are less and less about getting the money and running and more about partnering with a customer for the long term, even in 2011 when distancing and automation continue to dominate business processes.  The human factor and customer relationship loom large in business and there is no sign that that will change any time soon.

Somewhat refreshing is the thought that though technology seems to reign supreme in today’s business, old core values like customer service that plants the seeds for a strong future relationship do and will continue to play an important role.
