ERP CRM system modules have evolved and undergone a rapid expansion in capabilities during the last two decades. These systems are also becoming increasingly affordable to smaller and smaller businesses searching for ways to improve their back office functionalities and retain a competitive edge during difficult economic times. A complete ERP CRM system running on a fully integrated software platform that would have been available only to a large fortune five hundred firm, government office or university system just a few years ago can now be implemented or downloaded at almost no cost at all by businesses with only a handful of employees.

ERP Software

An ERP CRM system, also called a customer relationship management module run on an enterprise resource planning business solution, is one of sever kinds of software modules that can be run on an ERP platform. Others include software programs for accounting, human resource management and payroll. An ERP CRM system is designed to provide customers with a portal by which they can interface with the company directly via the internet. ERP CRM system modules can allow customers to review product and service information, leave comments and complaints, and place, change or cancel orders. Many ERP CRM system options also allow customers the opportunity to contact a company customer service representative, either by phone or instant messaging system. An ERP SRM system can help increase customer satisfaction and confidence and can improve sales by providing an efficient, pleasant and reliable customer experience.

But a good ERP CRM system can do more than just improve customer satisfaction. These systems can be used to gather a wealth of data about each customer contact. Demographic information, user preference information, and a wide variety of other insights into customer needs and behavior can be gathered by the ERP CRM system and aggregated. This information can they can be analyzed and used to target strategic promotions and streamline and sharpen the focus of marketing efforts. This information can also be used by research and development departments to shape the direction of new product initiatives and roll outs.

ERP CRM system modules are becoming more flexible and affordable. Large providers and software developers have been motivated in recent years to raise their appeal among potential small business clients. This competition for small business market share has been spurred in part by a slowing of demand at the high budget enterprise level, and a growing awareness of unmet market needs among start-ups and businesses with fewer than a hundred employees. Many of these businesses are looking for software products that can help them cut costs, stay afloat during difficult times and emerge ahead of the competition when market conditions improve.
