As it is commonly known, the trend of associationism (the collaboration among diverse industry sectors in the pursuit of mutual goals, and their aggregation into “clusters” of shared resources, manpower, and Research and Development skills), was spreading during a time when Internet e-mail communication technology was still in its early stages, and, along with the development of personal websites, was recognized as an essential modern tool to increase a company's market visibility. This is exemplary of how the implementation of ERP software technology can help a company, which was once a major player in the market, to get back on its feet; particularly one that has lost customer allegiance or infrastructure support in its respective industry, as a result of falling behind in technological innovation.
