ERP Manufacturing

ERP Manufacturing Process Software

The evolution of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) occurred gradually as the growth in technology for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Material Requirements Planning II intensified. Whereas MRP and MRPII had concentrated on organizing and managing specific tasks directly related to the means of manufacturing, ERP was more expansive in scope. From its inception, ERP was able to integrate all business functions under one umbrella and its benefits applied to various industries, not just manufacturing.  Nevertheless, as a result of this natural progression from MRP and MRPII, it can be stated that no industry has benefitted more from the solutions provided by ERP software than the manufacturing industry itself.

ERP is considered a complete solution. It helps increase the efficiency and quality of the manufacturing procedures by coordinating the allocation of raw materials, actions of supply chains, inventory, warehousing, and logistics. Important problems are solved: no longer are the warehouse people left wondering how much stock should be kept in reserve and how much should be allocated to operations; no longer are the dispatchers left wondering when a delivery of goods will be ready for distribution, etc. In addition to these tasks that MRP was capable of handling, however, ERP also increases communication and adds efficiency because it is able to coordinate sales, finance, human resources, and customer relationship management, too.

The manufacturing industry can be divided into two parts. First, there is discrete manufacturing.  This type of manufacturing relates to goods that are assembled. And, the second part is process manufacturing, which relates to goods that are defined more as combined or blended. Some examples of this type of goods are: paint, oil, chemicals, medicines, food, beverages, and cosmetics.

ERP Manufacturing Process Software is specifically designed to help run manufacturing plants that produce these kinds of ‘blended’ goods. Process Manufacturing has to include methods and procedures such as mixing recipes, preparing formulas, adjusting proportional differences, supporting comprehensive compliance, continuous quality control, assigning batch and lot numbers for traceability, and reporting production.

BatchMaster Software, Inc., a quality ERP Manufacturing Process Software vendor, has been designing software solutions for the process manufacturing industry for over twenty-five years. Their products are rated highly by customers for the ability to manage multiple business streams with varying levels of regulatory complexity; ensure Lot traceability and ingredient tracking; lifeline Quality Assurance; compliance with industry, and FDA regulations; compliance with Bioterrorism Act regulations; inventory and market costs; and support a fast-paced sales environment with concurrent order entry.
