ERP Software Company

An ERP Software Company is dedicated to designing and selling all-inclusive, fully integrated software systems that make it possible for business enterprises, from large to small, to run their administration processes. An ERP software company is easy to find; the list is long. Some companies are almost household names. Those like Microsoft, Sage, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Net Suite for example, yet they in no way represent the total number of ERP software companies that today market, implement, and maintain a very competitive and worthwhile product.

It was in the early 1970s that the business world first saw the advent of ERP technology.  Engineers who had previously worked for IBM started a company called SAP that sold software to help enterprises with their logistics, accounting, and human resources.  Another innovator in the ERP sector was the company called PeopleSoft.

Other companies such as IBM, JD Edwards, and Oracle joined the IT expansion and began to contribute to the ERP market. These companies soon realized that to remain competitive they needed to offer ERP software in a number of different areas and to continually upgrade their product. In fact, any ERP Software Company still viable today owes their success to an interest and ability in adapting their product to new fields, new industries, and the needs of a changing world market.

The initial goal of an ERP Software Company was to tap into the market of Fortune 1000 companies.  This was due to the fact that those large, richer businesses were the only ones able to afford the purchase and implementation of ERP software systems. Eventually, vendors saw opportunity in the vast, untapped market of small to medium sized businesses and so began to design less complex and less costly systems for them.

After implementation, an ERP Software Company that sells ERP software system must also be prepared to train and educate the employees of the business that purchased the solution in the use of the new system.  This learning and training is an essential piece to a successful transition from the previous way of doing things to the new, and customers rely on ERP software companies to assist with this conversion project.

Providing maintenance and support for the products sold is also the responsibility of an ERP software company. Problems come up with any complex software and, to stay in business, a company must be prepared to help a customer work through those situations.
